The 1950s: Economic Development
Centennial Lecture Series
About the Series
Over ten decades, the Social Science Research Council has mobilized policy-relevant social and behavioral science aimed at finding actionable solutions to pressing societal challenges. The Council’s College and University Fund for the Social Sciences is a network of over 45 research institutions that support our work to foster innovative and solutions-oriented social and behavioral science.
In honor of the Council’s Centennial we are highlighting a research problem from each decade of the Council’s work, and inviting faculty at College and University Fund member institutions to reflect on the contributions of social and behavioral science to finding solutions to that problem. Through the Centennial Lecture Series, we hope to envision the future of policy-relevant social and behavioral science for the public good.
